Garret is the founder of the LMA music program and also serves as the director of Lake Michigan Academy’s summer program. Garret received his teaching degree from Grand Valley State University in 2012. He is a member of the National Association of Music Educators and The American Orff-Schulwerk Association. His goal is to utilize music as a tool for both conventional music education and for enhancing the core subjects.

Outside of the classroom Garret is a nature enthusiast and enjoys cooking, playing the cello, and watching University of Michigan football.
