Mindy received her Bachelor’s Degree from Aquinas College in Elementary Education K-5 – all subjects, K-8 – all subjects self-contained, with an English Degree K-8.
After teaching 4th grade for one year at a Catholic School, Mindy followed her dream. She went on to work for Ionia Public Schools as a special education teacher in a cross-categorical learning disabilities classroom. During this time, she finished her Master’s Degree at Grand Valley University with a dual endorsement in Emotional Impairment K-12, Learning Disabilities K-12 with an emphasis on Learning Disabilities. Mindy taught High School, Alternative Special Education, 5th grade General Education for seven years, and
Kinderstart Classroom for nine years. She has loved every single grade and level.
Mindy cannot get enough of learning and feels this is a lifelong endeavor. Mindy currently has a Reading Specialist K-12 endorsement but is also gradually pursuing an additional Reading Specialist concentration from Grand Valley.
Mindy has been trained in Orton-Gillingham and has received additional training through eduWeb for advanced Orton-Gillingham.
