Lin has a background in teaching as well as school and agency counseling. She has been employed in public, private, and charter schools in Texas and Michigan. Some of her favorite positions have involved teaching ESL to migrant workers in Sparta farm fields, middle school in Mt. Pleasant and Houston, senior citizens in a Muskegon high rise, alternative education for Muskegon high school drop-outs, and reading intervention with below-grade-level K-3 students in Grand Rapids Public Schools through a foundation grant from the John and Nancy Kennedy Foundation.
Lin is excited to be a part of Lake Michigan Academy, and getting to know all students and staff. She is currently teaching Middle School Math, Middle School Language Lab, College and Career Readiness, High School Math/Language Lab, and High School Integrated Arts.
Lin has been married for 33 years to her husband, Ted, and they have one daughter, Rachel, who is an art therapist in the Detroit area. Lin loves her family, her 81-pound lap dog, spending time outdoors, and, when weather permits, at the Lake Michigan beach. One of her favorite places to visit is the Upper Peninsula.
